Ready to use: factory spice

To give you a ready to use cast iron skillet, all of our cast iron cookware go through the factory template step where soybean oil is used on this high head so that the polymers can form a first layer of seasoning. This one factory deposited layer is equivalent to 10-15 shots of normal home seasoning. This makes our cast iron cookware ready to use. A first maturation is not required. However, to preserve the factory deposited cast iron layer, you need to re-season it from time to time. The seasoning in the factory is just a kickstart into the spice life of your cookware. Not to forget that seasoning is a constant process. If you want your cast iron to retain a perfect black non stick patina, then start cooking. Regular use and proper maintenance are key to a coveted black non-stick coating.

Tips for seasoning

To preserve the non-stick coating of your cast iron cookware, proceed as follows:

- Your first meal: It is highly recommended to start frying bacon as it enhances the factory spice layer by adding even more oils to the coating, although anything else could serve the purpose.

- To enhance the seasoning: Meat contains fats that enhance your cast iron spices.

MAINTAIN THE SPICING:

- Rub some olive oil over the surface of your cookware before cooking.

- After washing, rub some olive oil over the surface of your cookware and place it on a stove or oven at a low temperature to allow the oil to penetrate.

Enjoy a healthy lifestyle

With cast iron cookware, you dont need to use large amounts of oil to give potatoes a golden, crispy color. The beautiful black non-stick polish on the surface is a sign of a well-deposited pan that is almost non-stick. Cast iron pans allow you to avoid unsafe chemicals contained in non-stick pans and can cause unwanted damage to your vital organs

Care instructions:

Follow the instructions for seasoning below:

- Rinse the cookware with hot, soapy soapy water and a stiff brush. It is absolutely fine to use soap this time as you make the spices from scratch.

- After washing, rinse and dry the cookware completely.

- Apply a thin, even layer of melted solid vegetable fat (or cooking oil of your choice) to the cookware inside and out. Be careful not to use too much oil as this will result in a sticky glaze.

- To catch oil drops, place aluminum foil on the bottom rail of the oven and set the oven temperature to 350 - 400 degrees F.

- Then place the cookware head down on the top rail of the oven.

- Bake for at least one hour. After an hour, turn off the oven and let cool in the oven.

- Store open in a dry place after cooling.
