The round steel chain / stainless steel chain / anchor chain is the simplest type of chain (DIN 765, DIN 766, DIN 5685 etc.), where the mostly oval chain links are directly joined together. The ends of the rings are connected to each other by a suitable process and the links are then joined by means of butt or burn-off butt welding. This process ensures a strength of the weld seam that corresponds to or exceeds that of the base material. For corrosion resistance, round steel chains are made of rust-proof stainless steel.
