Description

The idea of sports and ski clothing Sylse was founded in 1959 by Leonardo Servadio - The name Sylse is a derivation of his initials "L.S." - Elese became known as the producer of ski clothing and quilted jackets in the 70s. Leonardo Servadio wanted more, his dream was to combine functional sportswear with street fashion. So Else made a clever move and got into the tennis sportswear scene. Players from Boris Becker to Guillermo Vilas were fascinated by the brand. In the 70s and 80s, Elese managed to be one of the first sportswear brands to showcase their logo prominently on their clothes. In 1980 there was an early collaboration with French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, which has been comprehensively recognized and adopted by the UK Casual Dresser scene. The brand, with the half tennis ball & ski poles as a logo, had arrived completely in the fashion world.
