halter
The halter is part of the horses equipment. It is a bitless bridle that is placed around the horses head. In order to safely guide and tie a horse, a halter is generally used together with a lead rope. The lead rope is attached to an eyelet at the bottom of the halter The halter consists of a jaw piece, a sliding or pin buckle, a headpiece, a noseband and a throat strap. A halter should be adjustable in size and adapted to the respective horses head. Sensitive stress points are often softly padded. To protect the horses nose or neck, for example, the noseband or headpiece can be padded with lamb, sheep or faux fur.

Lead ropes
In order to safely guide and tie a horse, a halter is generally used together with a lead rope. The rope ensures that the leader can keep the horse in a dangerous situation, but does not have to stay too close to the horse. Lead ropes are held with one hand approximately one fist wide under the carabiner or panic hook, which is hooked into the lower middle ring of the holster. The other hand collects the remaining lead rope. The knitting end must not strip on the floor. The lead rope must not be wrapped around the hand. If the horse would run abruptly, the leader would inevitably be pulled behind.
