Description

The abseiling eight works even under the most adverse circumstances, including in the water, e.g. for canyoning. Since the braking effect in the water is much higher, the abseiling eight is "threaded" differently. The loop pulled through the large ring of the abseiling eight is not guided around the middle bridge but hung in the carabiner hook in which the eight is anchored. This technique, which makes the eight much faster, also prevents the so-called "turning" of the knot and the associated risk of "total blockage". During sports climbing, whether in the hall or on the rock, the abseiling eight has been used for a long time, as it has been used here as a "safety device" for the front and secondary climber. We point out that the abseiling eight is not a safety device and that the use of the abseiling eight as such is associated with risks and dangers.
There are special knots that are quite tricky with the eight, the abseiling eight can be used as an anchor and anchor point, e.g. when lifting, you can completely block the abseiling eight and use it as a rope brake. When sailing, there is an application as a so-called "tree brake". It is definitely worth researching something about the abseiling eight and experimenting with it. We will continue to lead the abseiling eight in our program.
The Aliens Abseilacht Medium is suitable for ropes with a diameter of 9 to 12 mm and ensures comfortable securing when rappelling.
It has an individual serial number and is tested for a breaking load of 25kN.
It is available in various colours (black, light blue, titanium light, red, orange, yellow and green)
