Key safety features are the strength and material of the lock. In general, the rule of thumb applies to: The more solid the more secure. This means that the strength of the chain determines essentially the security of a lock. With its 12 mm thick chain, the Vladiwostok type chain lock offers maximum security.
Hardened steel - a must!
Both chain and lock shackle are made of hardened special steel. This provides a high level of protection against bolt cutters and metal saws. In addition, to protect against "lockpicking" and drilling, the lock cylinder inside the padlock is also made of several movable metal plates.
Large chain length for easy connection
The longer the chain, the more secure the connection to solid objects. The KOHLBURG lock has a length of 120 cm, which allows for stress-free fastening even on particularly wide objects such as street lanterns.
Safety has its weight
No compromise on safety. And for maximum protection, most importantly solid is important, there is no way over. The weight of the lock is therefore high. Proud 3.7 kg brings the chain lock to the scale. What is not a problem for motorised bikes and e-bikes can be sweaty on pure bikes. We therefore recommend that when using bicycles the lock is in a fixed place (lantern post in front of the house, bicycle stand at the office, etc.).
