Unlike many original metal membranes, this membrane block uses fibre-reinforced plastic membranes. Metal diaphragm plates could cause severe engine damage in the event of breakage and are less dimensionally stable. Membrane punches made of plastic are simply ground in case of damage and disposed of via the outlet channel.
