This fuel tap is used in machines with a down-fuel system. The operation of the so-called "falling fuel system" is simple. The petrol easily passes from the fuel tank to the carburettor by "falling" - i.e. by gravity.
The simple design of the petrol tap makes it hardly prone to errors. However, even the fuel tap is not immune to wear. For example, the seals can harden, dry out or become brittle. The seals suffer and no longer hold properly. Fuel can then leak out at the fuel tap or false air enter the system.
