In the past, no photographer went out of the house without a tripod - then the smartphones came and suddenly a tripod seemed slightly falling out of time.

But now it is clear: there are applications for which a small, lightweight, handy tripod can be quite practical - for video recording, folded as a selfie stick, for secure positioning during selfie, for video conferencing with webcam and much more.
