The blue/teal light is completely blocked. The contrast between the dark and lighter zones increases enormously. This is very helpful when observing Jupiter and Saturn. The colour filter darkens a little the light that arrives at the eye or on the sensor of the camera. This eliminates overradiation, among other things.
