Description

The focus motor for SCT & EdgeHD provides electronic focusing for Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) and EdgeHD telescopic tubes. With the built-in focus motor, you can bring heavenly objects into a sharp focus using the handheld controller of your telescope or computer instead of the focusing button. A focus motor is ideal for visual observers who want to select exact focus (especially those with limited conditions). And a must-have accessory for astro images. With a motorised focuser, an astroimager no longer has to be physically close to the telescope to focus an image. Combined with computer-controlled control of the mount and camera, the focus motor allows the imager to collect data from a distance from a backyard observatory or even a telescope hundreds of miles away. As an added bonus port protects the ports when not in use and the covers are not in use. thanks to the bound design. The focus motor is compatible with all SCTs from 6" to 14" in aperture produced since 2006. It is not compatible with 5 inch SCTs or older models. It is compatible with the 8 inch Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) of the 36 cm RASA. 7 in. Maksutov-Cassegrain and all EdgeHD optical tubes. It can also be used with the 11" RASA but requires the retrofit kit for RASA 11. For 6" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes only the Off-Axis Guider (#93648) cannot be used when the focus motor is installed due to mechanical interference. Three ways to power your Celestron Focus Motor 1. When using a computer-controlled Celestron mount, you can power and control the focus motor via the mount with the included AUX cable. This allows you to control via the handheld controller of the mount (NexStar+ or StarSense) or a computer 2. If you are not using a Celestron mount, you can operate and control the focus motor from a computer USB port. Also for use An external 12V DC power source that plugs into the power plug of the motor.
