The Newtonian reflection telescope is very sensitive to the optical axis, a slight movement of the calibration screw can deflect the entire optical axis.

Even if the lens barrel is differently aligned, the optical axis changes. (With a star telescope, a star is displayed on the equator mount. When the equator mount moves, the lens tube of the telescope also moves towards the equator movement. If you see this star again, the optical axis of the telescope is not permitted. You need to set it again.)

For this reason, you should select a star to be calibrated, not the desired target (Jupiter or Moon). When you observe space, you feel that the slight deviation can be tolerated, and you will not be calibrated when you turn to planet observation. This is actually very risky.

It is best to check the optical axis before each observation, just like the fuel tank and tyres before each ride.
