Description
Sanding grid discs with Velcro adhesion, also Velcro sanding discs with mesh grid or simply Velcro sanding grid, have a stable mesh made of polyamide (nylon) as a carrier material, which gives them high strength and durability, but above all great dust permeability. Typical of these sanding discs is a very good removal rate and even grinding result.
The resulting sanding dust can be easily vacuumed, which allows almost dust-free work.
Holes in the disc to fit the respective grinding machine types, or their suction devices are not necessary, as a permeable grid structure is present throughout the grinding wheel area.
The discs are suitable for all grinders with 125 or 150 circular mounting device with Velcro adhesion, such as random orbital sanders, giraffes also sanding giraffes or long-neck sanders for drywall and many other sanders.
The slightly higher purchase price is compensated by the long service life, which leads to a very good cost-benefit factor.
Unlike sandpapers, the grid structure of the carrier material prevents the abrasive grains from clogging prematurely, which extends the service life. After work, it is recommended to tap or rinse with water, dried again, the sanding grid can be used again.
Originally developed for drywall for sanding plaster, plasterboard and fillers to cope with the large amounts of dust generated and to achieve the required high removal rate, other industries quickly recognized the advantages of the grid-like support, and so grid sanding discs are now used in almost all areas, both in coarse and pre-grinding as well as in finer grits for fine , or finish
