[Hard metal]
Fletcher-Terry is the best one stop shop for all your glass cutting needs. Handy cutters do not cut glass; glass is pulled through a sprocket along the surface that is then broken out. When you roll this gold tip cutter, a minute fracture will develop in the surface called the gap. A crevice gives a good, clean and strong edge and is virtually invisible when viewing the glass surface.
If the surface is not clean or the notch is white or grainy, this may indicate that a cavity or scratches have been made. The glass may still be broken out in this case, but the edge will be chipped and weak and may even cause glass flaws unless its sanded or straps to remove the notches. It may be necessary that the user feels applying maximum force without crushing. It is important that the user maintains the same force throughout the cut.
Be sure to thoroughly clean the glass surface before you start cutting. It is also important to note that the cutting line should not be cut repeatedly. For good control, the top of the cutter must lean in the direction of the cut. Also make sure to start at the edge and let the cutter drain from the bottom edge. If you have made a mark of quality, the breakout should be easy. A bend of only 2-3 degrees should provide sufficient tension for a successful breakout along the running cut.
