The European plug and the European coupling made of black plastic are for cables with 2 x 0.75 mm² and may be loaded with a maximum of 2.5 amps in this constellation. They are designed for 220-250 volts and, unlike the earthing contact plug or earthing contact coupling, do not use a protective conductor. With this set, protected insulated devices with low power, e.g. radio or lamps, are connected to the low voltage network in Europe.
