Q: Is variable ND also a polarisation filter?

A: Although variable ND consists of a 2 piece polariser filter, they do not offer polarisation or help reduce polarisation as once you have 2 pieces of glass they reduce the light falling on your sensor.

F Can I use a lens hood with VND?

A. No, you cant just do this because VND filters are larger compared to your normal ND filter to reduce the impact of vignettes.

F Are there front threads on this VND?

A. No front thread and no stacking on VND recommended to avoid vignettes.

F Are VND magnetic filters?

A. No, these are only threaded filters as stated in the product list. Freewell Magnetic Quick-Swap systems are magnetic, i.e. ND filter, VND is threaded and may only be used via thread.
