The history of the Lundby dolls houses begins in 1945 when Axel and Greta Thomsen settle in the small village of Lundby in Sweden. Here, Greta begins to design and build a dollhouse and furniture for her granddaughter. When the grandparents see what joy the grandchild and their friends have with the dollhouse, they decide to produce and distribute several dollhouses. Only two years later the company Gerd. Lundqvist & Co (today the famous luxury department store NK) the most dollhouse and a hobby became a shop. The married couple Thomsen expands the collection of dollhouses and Lundby continues to grow successfully. This is due to the company founders above all to their constantly new ideas, when it comes to modern living and furnishings, but above all playing.

This is still the companys philosophy: thanks to the love of contemporary design and loving details, children immerse themselves in new, imaginative play worlds.
