The user interface is multilingual and easy to understand - recordings are easily accessible and level settings are just as easy at the touch of a button as deleting takes, adding brands or other frequently used tasks. The menus are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. In addition to manual control, there are three different automatic functions to choose from (limiter, peak lower, auto level), which can help avoid distortion during recording.

In addition to recording on the go, the DR-07X can also be used as a USB audio interface with two inputs and outputs. This makes it a powerful tool, for example for night toning, live streaming, podcasting and studio quality composing.

Transcribe your voice recordings

The new dictation mode makes it easier to jump forward and back during playback at previously set time intervals. It can be combined with variable speed and a special voice EQ, which is helpful when transcribing recorded session logs The overwriting recording also allows you to set an entry point from which an existing recording is overwritten as with a conventional tape recorder.

Ideal for musicians

Users can place one of six hall effects on the input or output signal and add existing recordings via overdub function to speech, vocals or instruments. There is also an automatic level balance that can compensate for sudden volume jumps during playback, and a built-in speaker for quick checking of recordings. Other features such as variable speed, depth filter, chromatic voice function and others are also accessible via the menu.

Extended battery life

The DR-07X requires only two AA batteries and has an extremely long battery life. When using the built-in microphones, the recording time is 17.5 hours when recording in standard 2-channel WAV, 44.1 kHz/16 bit format with alkaline batteries.

In addition, the DR-05X can also be operated via a mobile USB power bank, which allows for a particularly long service life.

Non-destructive overdubbing

With the Overdub recording, you can take something new to an existing recording. For example, add a guitar solo to a recording you previously created in the rehearsal room. Overdub recording creates a new file while preserving the original - so you can repeat the session as often as you like.
