Description

"

During the early and high middle ages, chain hoods were widely used especially in combination with upholstery hoods.

As a further addition, from the later high medieval ages, a larger helmet (like a pot helmet) was worn as a third layer.

This chain cover from Get Dressed for Battle is modelled on the typical cut of this era and also covers the shoulders of the wearer thanks to its length.

The mesh of the chain cover consists of 8 mm round rings, which are fully riveted with round rivets.

Historical Reproductions offers a wide range of different chain hoods as well as other chainware such as chain leg warmers and chain mittens in different types of braid.
