What type of anchor should you choose?
Most kayakers use a 1.5 pounds to 3.3 pounds folding anchor that is easy to store. For quiet lakes or rivers with little or no wind or current, a smaller anchor is generally fine, but for areas with flood, wind and current, a heavier anchor is better.
The size of the anchor you need depends on the wind and water conditions as well as the weight of your equipment. A folding grapnel anchor provides the greatest security to grip the ground to keep your kayak calm.
If your boat is below 10 feet, we recommend using a 5lb anchor set.
If your boat is under 3M we recommend using a 3lb anchor kit or 1.5kg anchor kit (you can find them in our shop).
