Alessandro Mendini
(1931-2019) Born in Milan, Alessandro Mendini worked as director of Casabella, Modo and Domus, awarded the Compasso dOro, author of the Groninger Museum in Groningen, Casinò in Arosa and the Forum in Omegna, worked as a designer, architect and image consultant for Philips, Swarovski, among others.
The Company
The Alessi company opened in 1921 as a "Technical workshop for the processing of brass and nickel silver plates, with foundry has always been known for the high quality of its products.

Alessigrafia, or the geography of Alessi production
Most of Alessi objects have still been manufactured in Italy since the founding in 1921 and by the cold processing of metal, which the skilled employees in Crusinallo di Omegna.
Over time, Alessi has also incorporated other materials such as porcelain, glass, wood and plastic into the program and each has developed a special manufacturing method. Even for external production, outside the factory in Crusinallo, Alessis guidelines ensure the same high quality standards as in your own home, always conveying between technically industrial complexity and attention to the craftsmanship details.
The non-metal objects are produced in different production sites worldwide. They are and remain original Alessi objects, because they have the same high-profile design approach and the same pursuit of quality that distinguish all of the companys products.
