Electromechanical 7 or 4-stroke cam switches switch one or more heating conductors with different power in series or individually. They are primarily used to control hotplates and radiant radiators. The result is up to six different heating outputs, which correspond to the heat requirements of different cooking processes and different quantities of food. Furthermore, there are so-called selector switches for different electrical appliances.
