Introduction:
Electronics manufacturing often uses specially designed protective clothing to minimise the accumulation and retention of charge. This clothing referred to as ESD clothing is worn over the operators normal clothing. Therefore, it should also provide a shielding against surface tension or tension transients that are stirring from garments underneath.
In some cases, ESD protective clothing is not only used to prevent ESD damage to the electronics, but also to prevent the electronics from being damaged by the contamination of dust particles (clean room clothing).
