The sturdy MDF (medium density fibreboard) speaker rings are excellent for installing high-quality speakers really professionally in the vehicle. They are an excellent alternative to often unstable plastic adapters that allow speakers to never play their full potential. Because as massive mounting surfaces as possible are one of the decisive reasons for clean sound, even at high levels.
Due to their high self-rigidity, they reduce any unwanted movement (vibrating, swinging etc.) of the speaker basket already in the approach and thanks to their large contact surface they also provide additional stabilisation of the door plate on which they are mounted.
For additional protection for moisture, the rings are impregnated. Due to the black colouring, they are almost invisible in the finished installation. The MDF rings thus offer a very good price/performance ratio, between the expensive vehicle-specific steel or aluminium rings and the level of plastic rings.
Before the entire installation, you need to drill holes in the speaker rings yourself. Make sure you use the correct twist drill bit.
In addition to the MDF rings, we recommend large-area insulation of the door and the door panel - e.g. with the high-quality Roadkill insulation material from Stinger.
