Robust suede surface with aramid lining: For cooking and frying with cast iron products, the use of the Petromax Aramid range is recommended. It allows you to grip the pan safely. The aramid handle cover is suitable for the fire pans with a handle. Simply slide over the pan handle provides a natural grip and reinforces the firm grip regardless of the pan size (FP20 to FP40). In addition to the aramid grill cover, there are also the heat-resistant aramid pot holders and gloves (temperature protection up to a contact heat of up to 250 °C).
The pan only needs to be rinsed with hot water before the first use and is then ready to use. For the first use, do not prepare acidic food, as the patina must first develop properly. Acidic foods attack a not yet strongly formed patina. Do not put cold liquids in the hot pan, the resulting tension can cause cracks. Never clean the pan in the dishwasher. Only use warm water and a standard dishwasher brush for cleaning - no detergent or soap. Stubborn food residues can be removed with the Petromax scraper or ring cleaner for cast iron and wrought iron. After cleaning thoroughly and if necessary, treat with the care paste for cast iron and wrought iron. Care with cooking oil should be avoided, as it can become rancid. Always store the pan dry and clean. (allow air circulation). Once the patina of the cast iron pan is heavily affected, it can be re-fired. The exact procedure can be found in the instruction manual (English language not guaranteed).
On his adventure tour through Africa, the young Jonas Taureck stayed in the sand with his 4x4 vehicle. After hours of sand shipping, the result: A broken engine suspension and a smashed alternator. In search of an alternative charging option for the batteries, he reached a small village whose cabins and streets were brightly illuminated. But what made the appearance of electric lighting here was the strong luminosity of a petroleum lamp. Unfortunately no electricity expect – but a passion was awakened. This traditional lighting principle does not let Jonas go. The old lamp system became a concept and from the concept a now 80 man strong company. Over time, the range has expanded into a self-sufficient product world. The name Petromax is a term for all those who are outside at home and place great importance on reliable, well thought-out and, above all, durable companions.
