Description

User information for the use of ring nuts DIN 582: Ring nuts according to the above standard are mainly used as a load bearing means for permanent attachment to components such as motors, control cabinets, transmissions etc. for their transport. But also in the event sector, in so-called rigging, for hanging components and in many other areas of application in trade and industry. For changing use on different items to be transported, such as large tools, eye bolts with the next larger thread diameter must be used. When used with multi-strand stoppers, the rules are e.g. according to DIN EN 818-4. When using screws, a washer should be provided under the screw head. The load capacity indicated in the third column of table 1 is up to max. 45° tilt angle, the load capacity indicated in the fourth column with ring nuts screwed on the side up to max. 45° tilt angle in all directions with respect to the ring plane. Side pull should not be applied (see picture 1). Ring nuts should be checked for tight fit and visible damage (corrosion, deformation) before use. Ring nuts with deformation should not be used and not screwed back in. A subsequent colour marking of the ring nuts (especially in red) should be avoided to avoid confusion with high-strength stop points. The load capacity data in the lower table only apply if the ring nut is fully screwed on, the ring nut lies flat and fully on the contact surface, the length of the mating thread is sufficient and the strength of the element with the counterthread (screw) is sufficient.
