Superior food grade stainless steelHawkins stainless steel pressure cooker and lid are made of non-magnetic 18/8 stainless steel (AISI Class 304) food grade (18/8). The 18/8 symbolises that this stainless steel variety contains 18% chrome and 8% nickel to increase corrosion resistance and better withstand the various acids in many foods such as fruit, meat, milk and vegetables. It is therefore one of the highest quality stainless steel types used for cooking utensils. Type 304 stainless steel has high strength, which means your Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker will give you years of loyal service when used properly. |
Superior food grade stainless steel lidThe superior 18/8 stainless steel lid ensures maximum hygiene and durability. |
5.8 mm extra thick, heat-distributing sandwich baseThe pressure cooker and lid are made of high quality stainless steel for maximum hygiene and durability. On the outside of the pressure cooker between two stainless steel sheets, there is a 4.1 mm thick aluminium core that distributes heat quickly and evenly. This means there are no hotspots - food does not burn or stick. The outer base is made of AISI grade 430 magnetic stainless steel, which means your Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker works on both gas and induction hobs. The extra thick base stays flat and never bulge. It can be safely used for easy and fried frying before pressure cooking. |

The pressure-locked Hawkins safety lidThe unique Hawkins pressure-locked safety lid ensures that the lid is pressure-locked like a modern jet liner door. It cannot be opened until the pressure has fallen to a safe level. |
Perfect seal thanks to better design - "play"The lid handlebar is attached to the lid so that there is additional space for intentional "playing" or moving. This ensures a perfect seal of the lid with the edge of the stove body. This is an advanced design function - do not try to tighten the bar and remove this "game"! |
Fixed stable pivot pointThe fixed, stable pivot point supports the self-centring lid in secure locking and ensures a steam-proof seal. It is also designed so that no excessive pressure is applied to the plastic handles as it is part of the metal handle itself. Thus, the handles last longer. |

Superior pressure controlThe improved pressure control system regulates pressure better, boils faster, saves more fuel, is easier to insert and remove and reduces the germination of foamy foods (like Dal). |
Automatic safety valveThe automatic safety valve is positioned so that steam and food are safely deflected downwards during operation. |
Longer sealAs the lid fits from the inside, the seal is not rubbed or cut or scraped off every time you open or close the pressure cooker. Furthermore, the exposure of the seal to food acids in the pressure cooker is minimised due to the protection it provides through the edge of the lid. |

Strong cool handlesYour pressure cooker features cool handles that are easy and comfortable to hold when cooking. The handles provide optimum comfort and protection against excessive heat when the stove is in operation. The metal screw and rivets that attach the handles are securely countersunk to limit the likelihood of your hand coming into contact with hot metal when cooking. |
Unique curved bodyThe stove body maintains the correct curvature, which has three advantages: The food can be easily stirred during the cooking process before quick cooking. This prevents food from sticking or burning, which can otherwise be a problem with stainless steel, and cleaning is so easy |
Works on gas and induction hobsThe magnetic outer base of the AISI Grade 430 pressure cooker allows for use on induction hobs. It is also recommended to use on gas, electric, ceramic and halogen hobs. The extra thick base of 5.8 mm always stays flat and retains the right contact even after heavy use. |

The advantage of the Hawkins cookbookEach pressure cooker comes with a cookbook or instruction manual (English language not guaranteed). It contains valuable and practical information on how to use and care for your pressure cooker as well as a variety of tested recipes. Just try it out and develop your own recipes as soon as you are familiar with your pressure cooker! |
The Hawkins test kitchenThe test kitchen writes instructions for the user, develops recipes and solves customer problems. The test kitchen tests products from the consumer perspective. If a prototype has problems in the test phase, the test kitchen sends it back to the research and development centre to improve the design. |
