Superior food grade stainless steel

Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker and lid are made of non-magnetic 18/8 stainless steel (AISI Class 304) food grade (18/8). The 18/8 symbolises that this stainless steel variety contains 18% chrome and 8% nickel to increase corrosion resistance and better withstand the various acids in many foods such as fruit, meat, milk and vegetables. It is therefore one of the highest quality stainless steel types used for cooking utensils. Type 304 stainless steel has high strength, which means your Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker will give you years of loyal service when used properly.

5.8 mm extra thick, heat-distributing sandwich base

The pressure cooker and lid are made of high quality stainless steel for maximum hygiene and durability. On the outside of the pressure cooker between two stainless steel sheets, there is a 4.1 mm thick aluminium core that distributes heat quickly and evenly. This means there are no hotspots - food does not burn or stick. The outer base is made of AISI grade 430 magnetic stainless steel, which means your Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker works on both gas and induction hobs. The extra thick base stays flat and never bulge. It can be safely used for easy and fried frying before pressure cooking.

The pressure-locked Hawkins safety lid

The unique Hawkins pressure-locked safety lid ensures that the lid is pressure-locked like a modern jet liner door. It cannot be opened until the pressure has fallen to a safe level.

Perfect seal thanks to better design - "play"

The lid handlebar is attached to the lid so that there is additional space for intentional "playing" or moving. This ensures a perfect seal of the lid with the edge of the stove body. This is an advanced design function - do not try to tighten the bar and remove this "game"!

Fixed stable pivot point

The fixed, stable pivot point supports the self-centring lid in secure locking and ensures a steam-proof seal. It is also designed so that no excessive pressure is applied to the plastic handles as it is part of the metal handle itself. Thus, the handles last longer.

Superior pressure control

Strong cool handles

Your pressure cooker features cool handles that are easy and comfortable to hold when cooking. The handles provide optimum comfort and protection against excessive heat when the stove is in operation. The metal screw and rivets that attach the handles are securely countersunk to limit the likelihood of your hand coming into contact with hot metal when cooking.

Unique curved body
