Advanced Function - Plustek OpticFilm 8300i SE is the latest scanner for digitizing 35mm negative films and slides. Its sharp optical system produces excellent detail in shadow areas and has a remarkable range of tones. The built-in infrared channel helps users remove dust and scratches on the original negatives and slides without additional post-processing.
Accelerate - Thanks to the new algorithm and the upgrade of the IC chip, the scanning speed can be increased by up to 38% compared to the last model OpticFilm.
Users are able to create a digital image archive of your own analog images easier than before.
Includes dual professional software
SilverFast SE Plus 9 - This software contains a variety of new features with optimised image processing. The improved user interface, along with new algorithms that accelerate image processing time by up to 75%(**), are just a part of the numerous upgrades.
Plustek Quick Scan Plus - The software has an intuitive, user-friendly interface. You can easily export digitized images into your own image processing from third party editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP after scanning.
(*) The scanning speed compared to the OpticFilm 8200i series may vary depending on PC or Mac specification.
(**) Results may vary depending on scan application, computer processor and system memory.
We know that film and slide negatives lead to fading colours quite easily.
Decomposition or fungal infestation is a nightmare for your film or slide.
Digitises easily with OF8300i to prevent progressive decay or complete destruction.

Colors fadeThere are light-absorbing color bodies contained in dyes if the negatives and color slides are not well processed and stored in proper condition. Due to visible light, UV rays and sun heat, there may be colour fading. |
Fungal attackMoulds can attack the gelatin binder of any film format. Gelatin provides mould spores of food, and mould growth on films stored in high humidity environments, especially when relative humidity levels exceed 65%. |
decompositionSometimes the photographic film was carelessly exposed to extreme environments such as heat, radiation, humidity, or acidity to the sprayed liquid, which can alter the stability of a chemical compound in dyes. |

State-of-the-art imaging systemThe Plustek OpticFilm 8300i SE is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and optical systems. It uses a highly sensitive colour CCD sensor and LED lighting to ensure optimal image quality. The built-in infrared channel detects dust and scratches on the film surface and removes it automatically. |
7200 DPI excellent scanning resolutionThis special 35mm film scanner features true 7200dpi optical resolution that ensures sharp and vivid images. Output files up to 68.9 megapixels are similar to those created by a digital full-frame SLR camera. You can create high-quality magnification prints up to 36 x 24 inches. |
3.91 Dmax for soft gradations and fine shade detailsThe dynamic range is the range of the recordable light from the darkest to the brightest on the exposed film a scanner can read. With a dynamic range of up to 3.91 D, you will rediscover how beautiful and natural the lights and shadows are in analog photography. |
Built-in ICC profileColor management is very important for input, output and display devices in the world of digital imaging. Color management ensures your scanned images look exactly the same when printing and viewing. The PlustekOpticFilm 8200i has integrated ICC profiles for various slidesfolds, including Kodachrom slides. Your scanned images will look just as good when printing as they are scanning on your screen. |

Slides and negatives always have small dust particles and tiny scratches even with very careful treatment. Removing them individually takes a lot of time, as the original image often contains hundreds or thousands of small errors (dust grains or lint) that only become visible after digitisation. Plustek OpticFilm has a reliable solution to this problem.
The OpticFilm 8300i scanner has an infrared channel that finds dust and scratches on the film surface. The infrared light has a very wide wavelength, which allows it to pass through the film emulsion of negatives and slides without resistance, unlike scratches and dust particles that reflect it.
iSRD uses this behavior as follows (Automatic)
Step 1: Use white light for regular RGB scan.Step 2: Use an infrared scan that only captures errors such as dust and scratches.Step 3: Make the dust and scratch on the picture.Step 4: Calculative dust and scratch removal only grips where the infrared channel has detected errors without losing important details.
In summary, the OpticFilm 8300i series can automatically remove dust and scratches from the scanned image.
Dust and scratches are removed during the scanning process, so subsequent removal is no longer required.
(PS: The infrared rays of the scanner cannot penetrate the silver halogen layer, so it does not work when scanning S/W negatives, for S/W negatives, please use SRDx function)
The Plustek OpticFilm 8300i SE scanner is included in the bundle with SilverFast SE Plus 9.
