74HC595 and LEDs.

Use 74HC595 and 8 LEDs to create an LED water light project. The feature of 74HC595 is that it can convert 3 inputs into 8 outputs. Since the E/A port resources of arduino are limited, using 74HC595 5 E/A port resources can be saved to connect other devices. But the chip makes the LED control a little slower, about 500,000 times per second instead of 8,000,000 times per second, but it is still so fast that you dont notice any changes.

4-bit digital segment display.

As for controlling the digital tube at least 8 E/A connections are required, the 74HC595 is used to extend the E/A connection. The 4-bit digital tube can display different contents or the same contents. These must be controlled by the driver. In this example project, the 4-bit digital tube is controlled so that the same content is displayed. The display content is between 1 and 9, from A to F. After you master the use method of the digital tube, you can use the digital tube on other projects. It will be a good display tool for you.
