In black and white images often lack clarity because the colours stand out well in nature or in the colour image are hardly distinguishable as grey value, despite the brightness-true implementation. This can be counteracted with colour filters. If you want to reproduce the distance well, a black and white image with orange or red filter is most meaningful. Black and white shots with powerful colour filters produce very different images. The following list provides some clues: - Yellow filter: works without alienation, highlights clouds - Orange filter: similar effect to red filter, but not so hard contrast and less alienation effects. - Red filter: hard reproduction, strong alienation, strong clouds, good reproduction of the distance, even in haze.
