The 10 rules for badminton are as follows:
1. A game starts with a coin throw. Whoever wins the throw can decide whether it serves or receives or on which side of the place it wants to be. The side that loses the throw then exerts the remaining choice.
2. At no time during the game, the player may touch the net with his bat or body.
3. The shuttlecock must not be worn on the racket or come to rest.
4. A player should not reach the net to hit the shuttlecock.
5. An impact must be (diagonal) across directions to be valid.
6. During the impact, a player should not touch any of the lines of the playing field until the server strikes the shuttlecock. During the flap, the shuttlecock should always be hit from below the waist.
7. A score is added to a player score when he wins a rally
8. A player wins a rally when he hits the shuttlecock and touches the bottom of the opponents pitch side or when the opponent makes a mistake. The most common type of mistake is when a player does not hit the shuttlecock over the net or lands outside the boundary.
9. Each side can only hit the shuttlecock once before it runs over the net. Once hit, a player cannot hit the shuttlecock in a new movement or a new shot.
10. The shuttlecock that touches the blanket is counted as a defect.
