About us
We are a small, young company dedicated to providing home and kitchen textiles in great colours and modern, timeless design. Coupled with high quality and functionality. We manufacture our towels together with a small, owner-managed weaving mill from India. We only use non-toxic, harmless substances that are certified according to the Oeko-Tex standard.
What is a hammam towel?
In general, the hammam towel is a cotton cloth with fringes at both ends originating in Turkey. There, the towels, also called peshtemal or fouta, were and are used in Turkish bathhouses (Hamam). The men use it as a lumbar cloth and the women as body-covering swimwear.
The advantages of the towels are convincing today more than ever: they dry particularly quickly due to their weave and cotton and are still very absorbent. They are significantly lighter than conventional towels. Combined with the fine weave, the cloths are very small and take up significantly less space in the suitcase or bag despite their size. The manufacturing method (weaving) allows unique colours and designs.
How to use the DaWo hammam towel?
For drying after bathing, showering, in the spa or sauna, as a blanket or cloth on the beach, lake or park, for wearing as a kilt, lumbar cloth or sarong as well as as a base for yoga, sports or fitness. The cloths are also very popular as a bedspread, tablecloth or throw on sofas or armchairs.
Care instructions:
Machine washable at max. 60°C with similar colours and air drying. Please wash before use to maintain full absorbency.
