High-performance high-speed steel metal drill bits

All our metal drill bits are precision ground. They are made of the material HSS, also called high-speed steel. Since this maintains its hardness even at temperatures up to 600 °C, HSS can achieve a cutting speed three to four times higher than an ordinary tool steel. The different types of HSS have different quality. The cutting edges of the HSS M2, HSS-E, HSS-TIN and HSS-G drill bits are particularly sharp and are characterised by a high wear resistance and precise work. The material withstands vibrations and shock loads, so that particularly hard materials can be processed. In addition, there are the HSS drill bits extra long, HSS-R drills rolled and with a twisted shaft for less demanding work. Better cutting performance with less effort

The extra long industrial grade HSS metal drill bits work up to 40% faster due to their better cutting performance. They also require 50% less contact pressure when drilling clean holes, which requires less effort during demanding jobs. They are particularly well suited for use in grooves, grooves, recesses, hollow bodies and profiles.

Self-centring thanks to cross cut

The high-quality HSS metal drill bits in extra long have a cross cut according to DIN 1412 C with 135° tip angle. This ensures precise drilling behaviour and facilitates application and drilling progress considerably, as no pre-drilling or pre-graining is necessary. This creates an exact drill hole with low tolerances.

High-quality surface coating

The type N cylindrical twist drill bits have a high-quality surface coating for low friction with the highest load in materials such as alloyed and unalloyed steel, cast steel, malleable cast iron, sintered iron, non-ferrous metals and hard plastics.

Tip: When drilling into metal, the speed depends on the workpiece material. Cutting oil and regular removal from the drill hole helps to increase the service life of the drill and avoid overheating that is detectable by a bluish glowing drill tip.
