From the manufacturer

The company

The Alessi company opened in 1921 has always been known for the high quality of its products. Over almost a century, it has gradually become a top representative of Italian design forgeds, who applies its outstanding competence and expertise in the field of design management to very different product types. The company is open to change and international development, but at the same time firmly rooted in the tradition and cultural heritage of its environment. Alessi is still synonymous with objects that impress with their craftsmanship qualities, but are manufactured with the help of machines.

Mission

Today, the companys mission is to transfer the most advanced design ideas to industrial series production from cultural, aesthetic, manufacturing and functional. A design product comes from the ongoing dialogue between art and industry, between the "immeasurability of the creativity" and the requirements of the market. Alessis work is a constant burr hike and balancing: on the one hand the most modern forms of expression of international creativity, on the other the wishes of the audience. The company was referred to as "Fabbrica dei sogni", as a "dream factory": With the help of its products, it wants to contribute to happiness and pay tribute to the need for artistic and poetic that unites all people.

Michael Graves

"9093".

The famous kettle with the small bird that starts to whistle as soon as the water boils has been a continuous success since 1985 and has been the intersection between large design and production to a large extent. Unmistakable in his quest Michael Graves has succeeded in designing the implementation according to his visual code, in which influences from art nouveau to pop art and the language of comics.
