O flute down cut bitsSeparated bits require a slightly slower feed speed. This reduced tempo allows the bit to eject chips and cut them into smaller pieces that are finally thrown out of the hole or slot. Downward cut bit leaves a clean top edge, but a rough bottom edge. It is ideal for cutting flat dados, rabbets and visible slots. If you cut Dados or grooves with a cut down bit, be sure to slow down the feed speed to have more time for chip removal. |
