●1967 is back - the new wah pedal from the original makers! The new Wah pedal from Real McCoy emulates the original Vox Wah down to the component level. The Vox engineers have revealed the secrets of McCoys Vintage Wah model and developed a pedal that accurately replicates the original sound characteristics.
●The Real McCoy Wah is tuned to recreate the iconic nasal tone of the original McCoy Wah model, with an accented mid-range that gives your guitar a warm and melodic character.
●The VRM-1 consists of specially designed parts to fully replicate the original, including newly developed inductors, transistors and potentiometers as well as hand-picked resistors, capacitors and wiring to complete the circuit
●Through careful analysis of the inductor properties of vintage devices, Vox has succeeded in recreating the unique Halo inductor and integrating it into this Wah pedal
●The Vox Wah pedals use larger 1/2W carbon film resistors to faithfully replicate the sound characteristics of the Vintage Wah. By eliminating chip resistances and 1/4 W resistances, Vox can deliver an even more authentic sound

1967 is back - the new wah pedal from the original creators

Introduced by VOX in 1967, the wah wah pedal emerged from the midrange boost function of a VOX amplifier and was initially marketed as a way to emulate the sound of a muted trumpet. However, it was soon remastered for rock guitarists and reissued as V846 to keep up with the unintentional but music-changing use on electric guitars by famous artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. From the 1960s to the present day, the wah pedal has become an essential tool for guitarists.

The new Real McCoy Wah pedal perfectly emulates the original Wah down to the component level. The VOX engineers have worked hard to unlock the secrets of the Vintage McCoy Wah model. The result is a pedal that meticulously replicates the exact sonic characteristics.

The Real McCoy has the iconic, nasal tone of the original Wah model, with an accented mid-range that gives the guitar a warm and melodic character.

The pursuit of the ultimate vintage wah

The new Real McCoy Wah is unlike any other wah on the market - it consists of specially designed components that fully replicate the original. These include newly designed inductors, transistors and potentiometers, as well as hand-picked resistors, capacitors and cables to complete the circuit. This exact replica also extends to the exterior, with a housing molded from a 3D scan of the old model, and a focus on details right down to the screws and writing on the bottom.

The secret of iconic sound

Development of the Real McCoy Wah pedal began with the acquisition of a new McCoy Wah pedal from 1967, which is referred to as the "Holy Grail" by VOX - the epitome of the ideal device. In extensive A/B tests, the frequency response of the pedal has been systematically compared to that of other, more conventional vintage devices. These investigations brought to light the alchemy of vintage components, which together form the unique frequency curve of the "Holy Grail".
