The dbx 530 parametric EQ offers a unique level of balancing flexibility in the popular 500 series format. Based on the classic dBx 905, the dBx 530 is an uncompromising equalizer that provides true, completely parametric operation of all three filter bands. dbx has a promising story with modular processors dating back to our 900 series, and the dbx 530 continues that tradition. The overlapping bands of the dbx 530 each provide control of frequency bandwidth (Q) and up to 15 dB mutual cut or boost to provide an accurate, complementary filtering action for the most demanding equalization needs. In case of problem situations that require the removal of unpleasant signals, each of the bands can be independently switched to "Infinite Notch" mode without affecting the operation of others. In situations where a shelf equalizer achieves better results, the high and low bands of the 530 can be switched to shelf operation regardless of the tip.
