Do you not recognise that the hair is fake with a synthetic hairpiece?

The distinction between human hair and synthetic hair is increasingly difficult for experts, the wig industry has been working on for decades. And with the results, you too can be seen without worry. Fit hair colour and hair structure, you will not see at first or at second glance that the hair extension or hair replacement is not your own hair.

How long does a hair piece last?

In addition to the care of the care and intensity of the stress, this depends particularly on the length of the hairpiece. While they can wear short hairpieces, hair nests, buns and short ponytails for many months, even with daily use, long hairpieces show obvious wear and tear after just a few weeks. Typical is the gradual matting of the lengths and tips, which is inevitable regardless of the material, whether human hair or synthetic. The problem comes from the constant friction on the shoulders and back, which makes the surface of the hair roughened and brittle. The longer the hair, the more engraving the effect is, of course, it is strengthened by it when you wear the wig during dance and sports.

How do I extend the service life?

In order to balance the protection of the natural hair surfaces by fats from the hair roots and counteract this effect at least for a certain time, special care products, shampoo and balms have been developed for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic hair.

If you dont have such a care product at hand or if it is too expensive, a simple home remedy has proven itself well for synthetic hair products - normal fabric softener. Soak your hairpiece or the rough, matting areas in a lukewarm water bath under the addition of fabric softener. After drying in the air, the rough areas are softer and more combable. For combing - just as you would comb your own, long and tangled hair, from the tips up - do not use a brush, but a coarse, anti-static comb. At some point, the wear is certainly so engraving that you wont get around a new hairpiece.

Care instructions 1 - What do I need for care:

What you need: A bowl with lukewarm water and a little shampoo optimised for wigs and hairpieces (or pH neutral shampoo or baby shampoo). Normal shampoos are usually matched to hair and scalp and help maintain the shine of your hair with moisturising agents. Especially with frequent wearing of the hair replacement, you should use special care products. These are designed to give your hairpiece or wig back the necessary care ingredients it does not receive from the scalp. This helps the hairpiece not become dull or brittle.

Care instructions 2 - Washing instructions:

Just put the shampoo into lukewarm water and leave the wig to rest for about 10 minutes (never rub the hairpiece). Then carefully remove the residue of sprays and firmers. Then gently rinse the hairpiece in a bowl of clean water.

Care instructions 3 - Drying:

Wet hairpieces and wigs should never be combed or blow dried First, gently dab the hairpiece with a towel (do not rub). ). Here you can hang it on the attachment - the butterfly clip for example - or place it on a second cloth for air drying. Such a hairpiece should not dry on a radiator. After the hair piece has dried, you can style it with a tooth comb or loosen it with your hands.

Colour effect and colour codes

The product photos of WIG ME UP are taken under optimal lighting conditions in the studio, with the actual products. For the colour effect even more reliable than the product images, the standard colour codes we always provide. The numbers that accurately code the nuance can be found in the article number, separated from the previous model number by a die. Letters between the individual colour numbers refer to a colour mix.

Meaning of the characters in the colour code

  • One T between two colour numbers: The 1st Colour is more dominant in the upper and the second part in the lower part.
  • An H between Two colours: The 1st Colour is the basic tone - the second corresponds to clearly defined strands.
  • The "/" symbol indicates two (or several) uniformly mixed colours.
  • A Y is common for ombre wigs. Each hair is dyed in two or more colours.
