How it all began

On a sunny day, a mysterious tree house appears in the forest of Pepper Hill in Pennsylvania. The siblings Anne and Philipp quickly find out that magical powers snooze in this tree house, because they can not only travel to all places in the world, but also cross and across time.

The tree house belongs to the sorceress Morgan. She was a library at the courtyard of Camelot, in the fabulous kingdom of the famous King Artus. In Morgans mission Anne and Philipp are many exciting adventures. Later, she sends the powerful wizard Merlin on new journeys with the tree house.

Girls and boys from 8 years can go on a journey through room and time with the magical tree house. In each band, children will experience a new adventure on a different theme. The black and white illustrations help to understand the story better and stimulate imagination.

The magical tree house junior is based on the already released tree house volumes, which have been shortened and edited for reading. The large font makes it ideal for children aged 5 and up, to read the stories or to discover them alone when you first read yourself. The many colourful and detailed illustrations help children understand the text and illustrate the magical places of the action.

About the Author

Mary Pope Osborne wurde 1949 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, geboren und lebt heute mit ihrem Mann Will, einem bekannten Schauspieler und Theaterdirektor, und ihren Hunden in Connecticut. Schon als Kind reiste sie viel und lernte die unterschiedlichsten Länder kennen. Mit ihrer Familie lebte sie in Österreich, Oklahoma, Florida und anderswo in Amerika. Nach ihrem Studium zog es sie wieder in die Ferne, und sie reiste viele Monate durch Asien. Schließlich begann sie zu schreiben und wurde damit außerordentlich erfolgreich. Im Februar 1993 wurde Mary Pope Osborne zur 27. Präsidentin der Authors Guild, der ältesten und etabliertesten Organisation für Schriftsteller in Amerika, gewählt. Nach vier Jahren als Präsidentin wechselte sie in den Vorstand, in dem sie bis heute Mitglied ist.

Inzwischen sind schon über hundert Bücher von Mary Pope Osborne erschienen. "Das magische Baumhaus" ist sowohl in den USA als inzwischen auch in Deutschland eine der beliebtesten Kinderbuchreihen. Die Idee dazu bekam Mary Pope Osborne als sie eines Tages mit ihrem Ehemann Will durch den Wald spazieren ging und ein altes, verfallenes Baumhaus entdeckte. Daraufhin versuchte sie über dieses Baumhaus zu schreiben. Im ersten Band entdecken die beiden Geschwister Anne und Philipp ein Baumhaus das voller Bücher ist. Sie finden schnell heraus, dass sie zu all den Orten reisen können, die sie in den Büchern sehen. So beginnt die Reise in fremde Welten und längst vergangenen Zeiten. JUTTA KNIPPING hat nach ihrer Ausbildung zur Druckvorlagengerstellerin in Münster Visuelle Kommunikation studiert. Schon während ihres Studiums hat sie erste Bücher illustriert. Mittlerweile lebt sie mit ihrem Mann und ihren beiden Katern Leo und Mickie in der Nähe von Osnabrück und ist freiberuflich als Illustratorin tätig. Sabine Rahn studierte Germanistik und Anglistik. Nachdem sie zunächst als Lektorin gearbeitet hat, schreibt und übersetzt sie nun seit einigen Jahren mit großem Vergnügen freiberuflich Kinder- und Jugendbücher.
