Description

Wire rope clamps are used to clamp a cable back to itself and create a loop. At least 3 clamps or clips are clamped to ensure the end of the cable does not slip out.

The clamp consists of a U-bracket, a saddle and 2 nuts. The parts are made of galvanised malleable iron with zinc plating to ensure maximum corrosion and durability.

Some examples of applications in which these are used are: security pipes, anchoring posts, fence gates squares, washing lines, hanging banners, anchoring gym equipment and endless other applications.

Tip: Use an 8mm socket / nut driver to tighten the nuts. A drill can be used, but make sure you do not tighten too tightly as the wire may warp.

Never use malleable clamps in critical applications as they may bend, stretch or have other manufacturing defects. Only drop forged clamps should be used for critical applications such as guying, lashing or suspension.

Tip: "Never saddle a dead horse" - Never place U bolts over the live line. Never attach a clamp with the saddle on the dead side of the cable. Only the U shackle should be located on the dead side of the cable where crushing does not affect the breaking strength of the lifting cord.
