Self tapping screws
Concrete screws are used for all types of materials including wood, metal and even brick. Depending on the hardness, they must be pre-drilled with a drill slightly smaller than the screw before installation. The threads of the screw tap on the metal or wood while the screw is installed, keeping the materials together. There are many different types of tips that can have a self-tapping screw to facilitate thread cutting into different materials.
Please note:
Using the wrong masonry drill will affect performance and may cause failure.
Drywall screws are prone to galvanic corrosion when used with aluminum or when used in environments where moisture may be present.
