The Arena brand was created by Horst Dassler, sports visionary, son of the Adidas founder and managing director of adidas France. During the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, he saw Mark Spitz writing history and winning 7 gold medals.
Together with the rest of the world, he marveled this athlete who was the first ever to pick 7XGold during just one Olympic and at the same time set up 7 new world records. Horst Dassler was thrilled and immediately forged plans. This was the birth of arena.
