PitchPin

The official divot fork of the German Golf Association

The German Golf Association & Golfkontor take on a quality-relevant and cost-intensive factor in golf course management or course care - the improperly improved pitch marks on the green.

In cooperation with the Master Greenkeeper of the Hamburger Golfclub e.V. Falkenstein, Norbert Lischka, is a divot tool in a novel form that makes it much easier for every golfer to repair his pitch marks immensely. Common divot forks with two prongs are usually inserted too far into the ground and "levered", often damaging the root system (and whole grass odes) or even torn out. The pitchpin, which has only one prong, allows a new touch up technique and easier handling; the raised soil layers and pressed grass can be pushed back more specifically and gently. Thus, the regeneration time and in direct consequence the quality of the green can significantly improve according to the assessments of the green keepers and experts of the most important German golf associations surveyed on this topic. For example, Marc Biber (head of the Greenkeeper Association of Germany e.V.) and Andy Clark (PGA Master Professional and Board Member of the PGA) their clear recommendation and also Dr. Scheuer (President of the DGV e.V.) is convinced of the simpler and gentle repair technique with the PitchPin.

GHG GOLFKONTOR Handels GmbH has organised the development and production up to the already carried out test phase of the PitchPin. In close cooperation with the DGV, Golfkontor offers the PitchPin exclusively to all interested golf clubs and pro shops in a high-quality sales display as a new golfer tool for the 2010 season.
