[sanctuary]
[Modern]
The sanctuary rises up to 24 inches tall, creating a majestic presence for the two-digit Christmas story. The base is large enough to accommodate gentle animals of the stable, which forms a complete display. The design of the sanctuary is based on historical architecture. Its Gothic arches symbolise shelters where people gathered over time to seek inspiration and hope. The two sides and center wall traditionally form a triptych, a work of art in three panels. The pieces are made of wood, hand painted and sanded for a distinctive finish. Rusted nail holes provide a decorative linear element and are metaphors that predict crucifixion.
