About Mino Ware (Mino Yaki)
In the 7th century AD, Mino Ware was born in the Mino region in central Japan. It has a history of more than 1300 years.
As the tea ceremony culture became popular in the Azuchi Momoyama era, Mino tableware became increasingly popular and loved by tea masters and aristocracies.
The figure and colour of the Mino goods have been refined over time. Kizeto of yellow and ochre, Oribe of deep green glaze, Shino of white and pink glaze and setoguro of pure black have a good reputation among ceramic lovers not only in Japan, but also around the world.
Currently, more than 50% of ceramics in Japan are produced in this region. It is one of the most important regions and culture that we Japanese must preserve.
