The Bernadotte collection was designed in 1938 by Swedish Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. It is inspired by sleek lines from the Art Deco period of the 1930s. Sigvard Bernadotte was heavily influenced by the functionalist movement, and his sleek, uncomplicated aesthetics contributed to modernising the silver industry. He became one of the most popular employees in the history of Georg Jensen, and the collection named after him is one of the most successful.
