What to look for with air conditioning filling hoses?

For air conditioning filling hoses, it is important to pay attention to certain aspects to ensure safe and efficient handling. Here are some points to consider:

Compatibility: Make sure the filling hose is compatible with the refrigerant for operating your air conditioner. Different refrigerants often require different hoses. Pressure resistance: The filling hose must be able to withstand the pressure that occurs during the filling process. Our offered filling hoses are Hi-Performance hoses with 800 PSI - 55 bar (maximum operating pressure) and 4000 PSI - 275 bar (maximum burst pressure). Always check the maximum pressure resistance of a hose and make sure it meets the requirements of your air conditioner. Material quality: High-quality materials that are resistant to the refrigerants used in air conditioning systems are crucial. The hose should be durable and do not cause leaks. You can rely on our hoses because they comply with the SAE standard J2196. Connections: Check the connections of the filling hose to ensure they are compatible with the air conditioner connectors. Leaky or poorly fitting connections can lead to problems. Length of the hose: Choose the right hose length for your needs. Too short a hose could make it difficult to use, while too long a hose could affect pressure and reduce the efficiency of the filling.Markings: Make sure that the filling hose complies with applicable standards and safety standards. Markings such as SAE J2196 may indicate that the hose has been tested and approved.

It is important to be aware that improper handling of refrigerants and filling hoses can lead to hazards. Therefore, only trained professionals are allowed to carry out this work.

Hi-performance hose

(Picture as an example)

The Hi-Performance marking on our filling hoses indicates that these hoses are designed for use in particularly high performance or demanding environments.

The hose offered is made of high-quality materials as defined by the SAE J2196 standard and offers a high resistance to the printed refrigerant.

1 connection approx. 10° angled

(Example of an approx. 10° angled connection)

One connection side of the hose is approx. 10° angled to meet multiple purposes:

Accessibility: The angled connection allows for improved accessibility to the valves on the air conditioning or the manifold gauge kit (fitter aid). In hard-to-reach areas, the angled side of the filling hose can make connecting and loosening easier.

PREVENTION OF DAMAGE: The angled shape can help reduce the likelihood of damage to the hose or valves. Especially when the hose is used in areas with limited space. The tilt can help minimise accidental twisting or kinking of the hose.

Optimisation of refrigerant flow: In some cases, the angled shape of the connector can help optimize the refrigerant flow by allowing for uniform and efficient transfer of the refrigerant.

High pressure loads

(Image as an example of the pressure load and the SAE J2196 standard)

The filling hose is 800 PSI max. Operating pressure and 4000 PSI max. Burst pressure specially designed to withstand higher pressure loads.

The maximum burst pressure on air conditioning filling hoses provides information on what pressure the hose can withstand before it breaks or bursts. This value is critical to the safety and reliability of the filling hose during operation. The maximum burst pressure is usually indicated in a pressure unit such as PSI (Pound per Square Inch) or Bar.

It is important to note that the maximum burst pressure should be higher than the maximum pressures that may occur during normal operation of the air conditioner. This provides a safety factor to ensure that the hose remains intact even under unexpected pressure spikes or loads.

Made in Italy & Standards

The item offered is produced in Italy and complies with the SAE 2196 standard.

Some of the main points covered by the SAE J2196 standard are:

Materials: The standard specifies the materials from which the hose should be made and ensures that they meet the requirements for refrigerant resistance.

Pressure resistance: The pressure resistance of the hose is defined to ensure it can withstand the pressure requirements during the filling process.

Leakage: The standard contains requirements for the tightness of the hose to ensure that no unwanted leaks occur during the filling process.

Marking: Requirements are made for the labelling of the hose: including pressure specifications and SAE J2196 identification.
