What actually happens with an MSD dummy? The middle silencer is the connection piece between cat and rear silencer. Here abagse, as well as resulting sound waves are dissipated. Inside the MSD is a perforated (perforated) tube in which the sound waves can escape into the silencer. The inserted dummy prevents the deviation of the sound waves. In this way, the engine sound is not absorbed and the exhaust sound becomes louder. The exhaust gas dissipation is not affected.
