Harry Hartmanns Fibrerereed from HFC combines the best sound and play behaviour with durability that is 20 to 30 times higher than a wooden reed. For this purpose, the saxophone and clarinet reeds are characterised by excellent response, high strength, long-lasting hygiene and last but not least by exact reproducibility: Even after years you get a Fiberreed with the same excellent properties. A break-in time that you know from wooden leaves is no longer necessary. Fiberreed is 100% ready to play from the first sound.

Sound properties:

With the combination of high-tech materials and artistic empathy, a material with excellent sound properties was created.

Its name: Hollow Fibre Foamresin Compound, Short HFC.

HFC replaces the conveyor channels of the cane wood with hollow fibres and the cell structure with foamable resins. This together with a balanced ratio of longitudinal to cross stiffness allows sound characteristics that not only come close to those of the Arundo Donax cane but surpass them in many ways as it could not be achieved by any other synthetic material.

New Hemp Fibrerereed

80% organic material for a darker, earthly sound. Same great benefits as our carbon and natural fibrereeds.

Natural and natural classic fibrereed.

This Fibrerereed is made entirely of the white hollow fibre material, which is replicated to the natural cane wood Arundo Donax. The Natural Classic Fibrerereed is made from the same material as the Natural Fiberreed. The Natural Classic Fibrerereed has a steeper cut and thus sounds slightly darker and softer than the Natural Fiberreed. It is particularly suitable for a vitage sound in jazz or for classic mouthpieces such as the Selmer C* in the classical area.

Carbon and carbon classic fibrereed.

The carbon material is characterised by the fact that every second layer of white hollow fibres has been replaced by a layer of high-modulus carbon fibre. The carbon fibrereed sounds slightly higher in overtone compared to the natural fibrereed and has a slightly larger sound spectrum. The depths are full, the highs powerful. It has a convincing presence.

In the Carbon Fiberreed and the Carbon Classic Fiberreed, the differences are the same as the Natural and the Natural Classic Fiberreed. The classic model sounds darker and softer, the carbon fibrereed brighter and more radiant.
