The classic among premium headphones.
The DT 880 Edition is the classic among the premium headphones from Beyerdynamic. Music lovers appreciate its natural, vibrant sound as well as its excellent spatial image. The DT 880 Edition dampens outside noise, but does not completely close up, and thus conveys a harmonious sound experience. It has been part of the beyerdynamic portfolio for over 20 years and is still very popular. All components are available as spare parts and make the DT 880 Edition a long-term companion.

Concert atmosphere at home.The DT 880 Edition sounds very neutral and relaxed. The bass reproduction goes very deep but is not overemphasised. Jazz and classic friends especially appreciate this as the headphones sound very transparent and the individual components of the music are clearly differentiated. Thanks to its semi-open design, the DT 880 Edition still allows some ambient sound to enter and exit, but it dampens it slightly stronger than a very open headphone such as the DT 990 Edition. |
Excellent wearing comfort.The DT 880 Edition is very light for its size and has a comfortable fit with its carefully selected materials. The ear pads are known for the breathable and skin-friendly velour. So there is no excessive heat generation even after prolonged music enjoyment. The combination of comfortable headband and ear pads and aluminium earpiece forks give the headphones a sturdy exterior and a comfortable fit for long listening sessions. |
Difference to the DT 880 PRO version.The DT 880 edition for home use and the DT 880 PRO studio headphones: Both sound are identical. The identical sound transducers are used. However, the Edition models have a slightly softer temple for enjoying music at home, while the Pro earphones sit a little tighter on the head to stay there even during faster movements in the studio life. In addition, the PRO version comes with a coiled cable and the Edition version with a stretched cable. |
Three variants for different players.For versatile use, including mobile devices (tablets or smartphones), the version with 32 Ohm is recommended. The 600 ohm version is suitable for Hi-Fi systems with particularly powerful headphone outputs or for use with special headphone amplifiers. The DT 880 Edition with 250 ohms is designed for home stereo use. |
